Daily Expense Tracker System in Java using JSP and Servlet with Source Code. This project is developed to allow users to manage their daily expenses and keep a track of daily spending. It is designed for both third-year and final-year students for their college projects and is available with source code.
Daily Expense Tracker System Overview
It is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and User, where Admin will have the main control over the system.
Admin will be responsible for the management of the system. Admin can manage users, registration, etc. On the other hand, Users can register themselves, log in using the login credentials, track their income, and daily spending, manage their expenses, etc.
The whole project is developed using Servlet and JSP. At the front end, we have used HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. At the data access layer, we have used JDBC API. The Database used here is MYSQL. The whole project is following the MVC (Model View & Controller) design pattern.
Daily Expense Tracker System Abstract
Daily Expense Tracker System is a system that will keep a track of Income-Expense of a user on a day-to-day basis.
Codebun has designed a daily expense tracker project in java, which has two main roles i.e. Admin and User. Admin being the primary user. Admin can add/remove/update any details related to the system, View/Confirm/Cancel registrations done by Users, and so on. Admin can manage User details and also, keep the records of the Users, etc.
Users can register on the portal and create their expense management and tracker account, and manage all their daily expenses. Users can set the expense limit for daily spending on a weekly or monthly basis and keep records of total expenditures.
The following are the major objective of this application:
- To provide a bug-free application.
- The main objective is to build a secured, robust Daily Expense Tracker System.
- It maintains the record of users, expenses, income & history, etc.
Modules In Daily Expense Tracker System
Admin Module: This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel User registrations request. Admin is responsible for maintaining the database.
Admin can notify users if their daily expenses reached the limit.
User Module: In this module, the User can register on the portal. Once registered, the user can log in/log out of the system. Users can manage their account & profile details.
Expense Tracker Module: User can manage all their daily expenses. Users can set the expense limit for daily spending on a weekly or monthly basis and keep records of total expenditures.
User Details: Admin will be allowed to manage all the registered users and their details in this module.

- Can log in/log out of the system.
- Can Manage “My profile”.
- Users can manage their accounts.
- Can track daily expenses.
- Can set spending limits.
- Can change password.
