Online Photo Gallery In Java Using JSP and Servlet With Source Code

The Online Photo Gallery project is designed in Java using JSP and Servlet along with the source code for the students who are pursuing degrees in the IT field. This project is designed to automate the process of a Photo Gallery thereby, easing the process of managing and keeping records of every detail related to the Gallery.

It is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and User, where Admin will have the main control over the system.

Admin can manage the database of the photo gallery. Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on the availability, updating any details related to the gallery, managing users, managing payments, etc. On the other hand, Users can register themselves and can log in to the system, shop, and make payments online.

The whole project is developed using Servlet and JSP. At the front end, we have used HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. At the data access layer, we have used JDBC API.

The Database used here is MYSQL. The whole project is following the MVC (Model View & Controller) design pattern.

Online Photo Gallery System Abstract

Buying pictures from a photo gallery is a passion for some art lovers. Managing a photo gallery or any business, in general, is quite challenging. To manage it having an online system can prove to be a better solution. There are various types of pictures in a photo gallery like landscape, wildlife, aerial, portrait architectural, etc.

This Online Photo Gallery System will allow a user to find pictures according to their interest, buy one or more pictures, make payments online and get them home delivered.

Codebun has designed an Online Photo Gallery project in java, which has two main roles i.e Admin and User. Admin being the primary user. Admin can add/remove/update any details related to the system, update prices of the pictures/photos, View/Confirm/Cancel booking orders placed by users, and so on.

Admin can keep all the records of the Users. Users can register themselves and then buy photos, make payments online, and get them delivered to the doorstep. Users can find detailed information about pictures on the system after logging in.

The following are the major objective of this application:

  1. To provide a bug-free application.
  2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust Online Photo Gallery System.
  3. It maintains the record of Photos, Users, Payments, Purchase history, etc.

Modules in Online Photo Gallery System

Admin Module- This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel orders, can check payments, delivery status, etc.

User Module– In this module, a user can register themselves first using their name, contact number, address and also, can manage their profile. The user module will allow users to log in to the system using their names & contact number. User can view their purchase history, wishlist pictures, etc.

Booking Module: In this module after logging in, users can buy pictures. Pay for the confirmed purchase and get the Photos delivered to the registered address.

Category: In this module, Admin can manage pictures/photos categories.

Availability: In this module, Admin can check whether the particular picture from a specific category is available in stock or not.

Details of User: Details of a User like a Name, Contact Number, Address can be managed by Admin with this module.

Sold Quantity: This module will allow the admin to keep records of the number of pictures sold.

Users Roles

Two users can interact with this application 1) Admin 2) User

Admin:

  • Can log in/log out of the system.
  • Admin can View/Edit/delete photos into the system.
  • Can View/Edit/delete photo categories into the system.
  • Admin can View/confirm/Cancel orders placed by the User.
  • Can check payments done by User.
  • Can change prices of photos.
  • Can change password.
  • Can manage “My profiles”.

User:

  • Can log in/log out of the system.
  • Can Manage “My profile”.
  • Can search for pictures from a specific category.
  • Users can Place/Cancel an order.
  • Can make payments online.
  • Can change password.
