College Canteen Management System Project Overview
It is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and Student, where Admin will have the main control over the system.
This is a web-based application developed to replace the manual process of handling college canteen-related activities. The basic idea here is to allow the admin to add food, add a category of foods, etc. Students can view all the food and order online.
The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the front end, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.
College Canteen Management System Project Abstract
For students who live in hostels, food is a major concern. Canteens are provided by the college but they should be automated. There should be an application where students can order food. College Canteen Management System is a web-based application that is able to handle all the activities of the canteen.
Therefore, we on Codebun have developed College Canteen Management System Project in spring boot & hibernate to automate the manual process of the canteen-related activity. Here, we have multiple users i.e. admin and students. Admin will add all the food items, category and students will buy the food from the canteen using an online medium.
The following are the major objective of this application:
- To provide a bug-free application to the admin and student.
- The main objective is to build a secured, robust College Canteen Management System Project where the information about the canteen’s food items is managed properly.
- It maintains the record of food products, students order detail efficiently so that it would be easy to access at any time 24*7.
Modules of College Canteen Management System
Admin Module: This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can Add/Remove/Update food dishes, manage food categories, details, and availability, can manage users, payments, etc.
Admin can add/remove/update menus. Admin can track the sales activity and also, the growth of the store.
Student Module: All the student-related operations can be managed in this module.
Category: In this module, food items can be categorized accordingly.
Order Module: All the order-related operations can be managed in this module.
Stock Availability: In this module, Admin can check whether food items from a specific category are available or not.
Billing Module: All the operations related to billings can be managed in this module. Admin can generate bills and invoices.
Sales Activity: This module will allow the admin to keep records of the number of items that have been sold.
Payment Module: All the operations related to payments can be managed in this module.
User Roles of College Canteen Management System
Admin and Students are two major roles. Let us see the functionality.
1) Admin
- Admin can Log in/Log out of the system.
- Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE categories of food.
- Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE food items under a category.
- Admin can manage payments.
- Admin can manage all the order history.
- Admin can manage “My Profile”.
2) Students
- Can Log in/Log out of the system.
- Students can VIEW all the categories of foods.
- Students can place orders.
- Students can make a payment online.
- Students can view the order history.
- Students can manage “My Profile
