Order Management System Project in Spring

It is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and Customer, where Admin will have the primary control over the system.

Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and keeping a check on the products and management of the system, can add/remove/update products from lists, categorize products, check availability of products, order details, customer details, sales details, etc.

The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, and at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the front end, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.

Order Management System Project Abstract

Order management is an implementation of ordering, storing, tracking, and controlling inventory. This helps the business owner keep track of the sales, and profitability of a business and make decisions about the future of the business.

Codebun has designed an Order Management project in spring boot and hibernate, which has one main role i.e. Admin. Admin is the primary user. Admin can Add/Remove/Update any details of products, category, and type of products, descriptions, update prices of the products, and categories, and maintain product databases. Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel orders placed by the customers.

Admin can manage the customer details, payments, product availability, product entry, payments, product sales payments, and supplier details. Admin can track the sales activity and also, the growth of the business.

On the other hand, customers can log in and manage their profiles. Customers can place orders online and make payments for the same.

The following are the major objective of this application:

  1. To provide a bug-free application to the admin and customer.
  2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust Order Management System Project where the information is managed properly.
  3. It maintains the record of products, and customers’ orders detail efficiently so that it would be easy to access at any time 24*7.

Modules of Order Management System Project

Admin Module- This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can Add/Remove/Update products, View/Confirm/Cancel orders, manage products/product categories, details, and availability, can manage users, payments, etc.

Customer Module– In this module, a customer can register first using their name, contact number, and address and also, can manage their profile. The customer module will allow users to log in to the system using their names & contact number.

Sales Module: This module will allow the admin to keep records of the sales. Admin can View/Generate/Track sales reports with the help of this module. Admin can track the sales activity and also, the growth of the business.

Payment Module: All the payment-related operations can be managed in this module.

Category: In this module, products can be categorized accordingly.

Order Module: In this module after logging in, customers can order products.

Details of Customers: Details of a User like a Name, Contact Numbers, and Addresses can be managed by Admin in this module.

User Roles of Order Management System Project

Here, in this application, there are two users Admin and Customer. Let us see the functionality of each

1) Admin

  • Admin can Log in/Log out of the system.
  • Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE category of products.
  • Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE products under category.
  • Admin can View/Add/Remove stocks.
  • Can manage all customers.
  • Admin can VIEW all the orders placed.
  • Can manage all payments.
  • Can manage “My Profile.”
  • Can change password.

2) Customer

  • Customers can VIEW all the categories of products.
  • Customers can ADD products to the cart.
  • Can place/cancel order product.
  • Can VIEW a list of ordered products.
  • Can make payments.
  • Can manage “My Profile.”
  • Can change password.
