Timetable Management System in JSP, Servlet and MYSQL With Source Code

Timetable Management System in java using JSP and Servlet with source code. This project is configured to computerize the process of creating and managing timetables for students. This project is designed and available with source code for 2^nd/3^rd/final year IT students for their college projects.

Timetable Management System overview

It is a multi-role application i.e. Admin, Students, and Teacher where Admin has the main control over the system.

Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on teachers and students section whereas, students can view the timetables created for their classes and studies, get information about class timing, subjects, upcoming/ongoing exams, etc, and teachers can register themselves and create and manage student’s timetables, conduct exams, and tests, maintain students records, etc.

The whole project is developed using Servlet and JSP. At the front end, we have used HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. At the data access layer, we have used JDBC API. The Database used here is MYSQL. The whole project is following the MVC (Model View & Controller) design pattern.

Timetable Management System Abstract

The timetable management portal is a one-stop solution for teachers to plan, create, and manage timetables for students’ academic years. A timetable management system allows teachers to handle classes, exams, studies, assignments, homework, extracurricular activities, etc. It helps teachers to manage time wisely. It ensures classes are scheduled properly and only a single teacher is present in a class at a time for a particular period.

Codebun has designed this project in java to help manage timetables from a single place, where the admin controls the overall system. Admin can Add/Remove/Update any details related to the system. Admin will be responsible for maintaining student & teacher member databases.

Teachers can create and manage students’ timetables, maintain students’ records, schedule, or conduct exams. Teachers can upload, check and approve the assignments. Teachers can view/upload timetables for students.

Whereas, students can view the timetables created for their classes and studies, and get information about class timing, duration of periods, subjects, upcoming/ongoing exams, assignments, homework, etc. Students see the teachers allotted to them for each and every subject.

The following are the major objective of this application:

1. To provide a bug-free application.
2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust Timetable Management System.
3. It maintains the record of the timetable, students, teachers, results, subjects, and so on.

Modules of Timetable Management System

Admin Module- Admin can register & login/log out of the system. Admin can Add/Remove/Update any details related to the system. Admin will be allowed to add/remove any student and faculty member. Admin will be responsible for maintaining student & faculty member databases.

Student Module- After registering, students can log in/log out of the system. Students can view timetables scheduled for them, subjects, results, marks, download/upload assignments, exam schedules, etc.

Teacher Module- Teachers can register on the system. After registering, teachers can log in/log out of the system. Teachers can design timetables accordingly. Teachers can Create/Edit/Remove timetables. Teachers maintain students’ records, schedule or conduct exams, can upload assignments, results, etc. Teachers can view/download assignments submitted by students.

• Can view assignments submitted by the students.

• Can send important messages to students.
• Can manage the“MY Profile”.
• Can change password.

Students:

• Can log in/log out of the system.

• Can view exam schedules.
• Can give tests and exams conducted by teachers.
• Can view results, assignments, exams, marks, and so on.
