Online Lab Test Booking Project in Spring Boot and Hibernate. This project is designed to automate the process of booking lab tests and managing the whole process online.
The Online Lab Test Booking system is built to support all the functionality related to the process of booking tests, and managing the overall process. We will discuss each aspect of this project in detail for enhanced understanding.
Online Lab Test Booking System Overview
It is a multi-role application i.e. Admin & User where the admin is the primary user of the system.
This web application is developed to manage bookings of lab tests using a single medium. Admin who is the main user in this application has the responsibility of adding tests, fees, test reports & results, etc. The user is another role in this application who will book lab tests and request sample pick-ups using this application.
The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the front end, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.
Online Lab Test Booking System Abstract
Digitalization has led the world towards much more convenient ways of doing things. Be it online shopping, booking, selling, buying, etc. Everyone always opts for labor-saving methods of doing things. Booking a lab test is one of them. One can conveniently book the lab tests online, request a pathologist to collect samples from home, pay fees online, and get the test reports home-delivered. One can also, download soft copies of test reports online.
Therefore, Codebun has developed a web application called an online lab test booking system where users can book lab tests online instead of going to the diagnostics center. Here, we have majorly two main roles in the application. One is the Admin, whose responsibility is to manage the whole application like managing the system, adding lab tests information, viewing bookings, etc.
Admin is the primary user. Admin can add/remove/update any detail of tests available, edit prices of the tests, view/confirm/cancel bookings done by users, accept payments online, and so on. Admin can keep all the records of the Users, Test reports, etc.
Users can register themselves and then check whether a particular test is available or not, book tests, and make payments online. Users can request sample pick-up according to their convenience and get the test reports home-delivered. Users can also view and download soft copies of test reports online.
The following are the major objective of this application:
- To provide a bug-free application to the admin as well as the user.
- The main objective is to build a secured, robust Online Lab Test Booking Project where the lab tests are managed properly.
- It maintains the record of users, lab tests, and booking detail efficiently so that it would be easy to access at any time 24*7.
Modules of Online Lab Test Booking System
Admin Module- This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel bookings, manage registrations, can check payments, manage sample collectors, etc.
User Module– In this module, a user can register first using their name, contact number, and address and also, can manage their profile. The user module will allow users to log in to the system using their names & contact number. Users can view/track their booked tests, payment status, history, etc.
Booking Module- In this module, Users can book the pathology lab tests. Users can see the details of the tests along with the charges. Also, users can request sample pick up at a convenient time.
Search Module– In this module, users will be able to search for the tests available.
Lab Test Reports- All the operations related to lab test reports can be managed in this module. Admin can Add/Delete/Update lab test reports to the system and Users will be able to View/Download test reports online.
Sample Module- Admin can manage all the sample collectors and their details. Admin can allow each sample collector their daily task and duties.
Payment Module- In this module, Users can make payments.
Details of User: Details of a User like a Name, Contact Number, tests details, and booking history can be managed by Admin with this module.
User Roles of Online Lab Test Booking System
There are two main users of this application.
Admin:
- Can Log in/Log out of the system.
- Admin can manage users in the system.
- Can Add/Remove/Update Lab Tests available and their details from the system.
- Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel booking orders placed by the User.
- Can manage payments done by User.
- Can manage the sample collectors.
- Can change lab test prices.
- Can manage “My Profiles”.
User:
- Can Log In/Log Out of the system.
- Can Manage “My profile”.
- Can search for tests.
- Users can book/cancel lab tests.
- Can make payments online.
- Can change password.
