Online News Portal Project in Spring Boot and Hibernate. This project is designed to automate the process of managing the news portal and managing the whole process online.

It is designed for both third-year and final-year students for their college projects and is available with source code

Online News Portal Project Overview

It is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and User, where Admin will have the primary control over the system.

This is a web application developed to create a news portal. Here, users can read news from their favorite category. Admin is the user who will add news to the application using add news feature. Also, it can view the category list of news which are most viewed.

This Project has all the necessary functionality from adding, and deleting news from the system.

The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the front end, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.

Online News Portal Project Abstract

The online news portal helps in educating and informing Mass with the latest updates, and current happenings around the world. Having an online news portal is very much important nowadays as it can reach more audiences/users. And, nowadays, users want everything based on their convenience.

News sites offer information on public, political, social, sports, health, and entertainment topics. It allows getting instant & latest news from all over the world.

So, for this, we on Codebun have developed an Online News Portal project in spring boot & hibernate. This application supports two main roles in this application i.e. Admin & User. One is the Admin, who will add/update/delete the news, news category, comments, etc. Admin is the primary user. Admin can Add/Remove/Update any news posts, category, or descriptions, update news posts, and maintain databases.

On the other hand, Users can View/Read news, post comments, etc.

The following are the major objective of this application:

  1. To provide a bug-free application to the admin or users.
  2. The main objective is to build a secure, robust Online News Portal Project where the information is managed properly.
  3. It maintains the record of news, user, and category of news efficiently to be easy to access at any time 24*7.

Modules of Online News Portal Project

Admin Module– Admin can log in/log out of the system. Admin can Add/Remove/Update news to the system. Admin can manage all the registered users and keep the records of each user. Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel registration done by Users.

User module– The User can log in/log out of the system. Users can search for news, view different categories of news, and can find detailed information on the system after logging in. Users can Read/View news. Users can also post comments.

Registration Module– Users can register on the portal, and log in using the login credentials.

User Roles of Online News Portal Project

There are two main roles in this application.

1) Admin

  • Admin can Log In/Log Out of the system.
  • Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE News.
  • Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE news under the category.
  • Admin can VIEW/DELETE comments from the news portal.
  • Admin can manage all the registered users.
  • Can change the password.
  • Can manage “My Profile”.

2) User

  • Users can Log In/Log Out of the system.
  • Users can VIEW/READ the news.
  • Users can VIEW all the categories of news.
  • Users can ADD/VIEW/DELETE comments.
  • Can change password.
  • Can manage “My Profile”.
