Online Telephone Billing System Project in Spring Boot and Hibernate. Telephone Billing System is a web application developed for final year IT students and is available with the source code.
Online Telephone Billing System Overview
This is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and User, where Admin will have the main control over the system.
Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on users, billings, payments, generating invoices for users, and registering a new user. On the other hand, Users can register themselves, log in using the login credentials, and pay their monthly telephone bills online.
It will allow the collection of utilized data by the customers, generate telephone bills for the customers by calculating charges on the basis of the collected data, pay the telephone bills via e-payment methods, etc.
The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the front end, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.
Online Telephone Billing System Abstract
The Telephone Billing System will assist in managing the operations related to billings with more accuracy and efficiency. Online billing systems are better replacements for the redundant manual billing systems which lacked efficacy in generating and managing telephone bills.
So for this, Codebun has designed an online telephone billing system project in spring boot and hibernate, which has two main roles i.e. Admin and User. Admin is the primary user. Admin can Add/Remove/Update any details related to the system, collect call data usage by users for billings, maintain call database, generate bills & invoices for the users, and View/Confirm/Cancel registration requests by Users, connections, and so on. Admin can keep the records of the Users and their details.
Users can register on the portal using their name, telephone number, address, and other valid details and documents, pay online, download telephone bills & invoices, and Request/Cancel registration. After logging in, users can find detailed information about the calculated charges & taxes included in the bills, data consumption, pending bills, etc on the system after logging in.
The following are the major objective of this application:
- To provide a bug-free application.
- The main objective is to build a secured, robust Online Telephone Billing System.
- It maintains the record of Users, Payments, & history, etc.
Modules in Online Telephone Billing System
Admin Module- This module will allow Admin to log in and manage the system and its functions. Admin can collect call data usage by users for billings, compile & maintain call database, generate bills & invoices for the user, manage Existing Users, View/Confirm/Cancel registration requests, manage bills & payments, etc.
Admin can generate bills on monthly basis by calculating and matching calling tariffs with calling records of users based on the data collected. This data can be stored by the admin for the future.
Admin can send billing & payment reminder emails to registered users in case any user has failed to pay their telephone bills on time.
Registration Module- In this module, a user can register first using their name, contact number, and address, telephone number, and also, can manage their profile.
User Module– The user module will allow users to log in to the system using their names & telephone number. Users can view their telephone bills and data usage, payment status, history, etc.
Billing Module- In this module, operations related to telephone bills can be managed.
Payment Module- In this module, Users can pay for telephone bills and services provided using e-payment methods.
Download Module- Users will be able to download telephone bills & invoices in this module.
Details of User- Details of a User like a Name, Contact Number, Address, telephone number, bills, and payment history can be managed by Admin with this module.

- Can Log in/Log out of the system.
- Admin can manage Existing Users in the system.
- Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel registration requests by the User.

- Can manage “My Profiles”.
User:
- Can Log in/Log out of the system.
- Can Manage “My profile”.
- Can download bills & invoices.
- Users can request registration
