The Sales and Inventory Management System project is developed in Java using JSP And Servlet and is available for students for their college projects pursuing degrees in the IT field with source code. Sales and Inventory Management enables companies to track products sales and services and maintain inventories.
Sales & Inventory Management System Overview
It is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and User, where Admin will have the main control over the system.
Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on the products and management of the system, user registration, can add/remove/update products from lists, categorize products, check availability of products, etc. On the other hand, Users can register themselves, log in using their login credentials and make purchases.
The whole project is developed using Servlet and JSP. At the front end, we have used HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. At the data access layer, we have used JDBC API. The Database used here is MYSQL. The whole project is following the MVC (Model View & Controller) design pattern.
Sales & Inventory Management System Abstract
Proper recording of sales lets the business owner know when inventory stock is running low, precise recording of sales eases the planning process aiding the sales and inventory management system. It can help identify issues such as the availability of items in stock that can directly affect cash flow. In turn, this helps the business owner keep track of the profitability of a business and make decisions about the future of the business.
Codebun has designed a Sales and Inventory Management project in java, which has two main roles i.e Admin and User. Admin being the primary user. Admin can Add/Remove/Update any details related to the products like product stocks, category, and type of products, descriptions, expiry dates if any, update prices of the products, can categorize, and maintain products databases. Admin can assign every product a specific code for better searching.
Admin can create multiple accounts for managing products sales and inventories. Admin can track the sales activity and also, the growth of the business.
On the other hand, Users can register themselves, search for specific products, add to a cart, and make payments online. Users can find detailed information about products on the system after logging in.
The following are the major objective of this application:
- To provide a bug-free application.
- The main objective is to build a secured, robust Sales & Inventory Management System.
- It maintains the record of products & their availability, Sales, Inventory, Users, Payments & transactions, Orders & history, etc.
Modules in Sales & Inventory Management System
Admin Module- This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can Add/Remove/Update products, View/Confirm/Cancel orders, manage products/product categories, details, and availability, can manage users, payments, etc.
Admin can track the sales activity and also, the growth of the business.
User Module– All the user-related operations can be managed in this module. In this module, a user can register themselves first using their name, contact number, and address and also can manage their profile. The user module will allow users to log in to the system using their names & contact number.

Admin:
- Can Log in/Log out of the system.
- Admin can View/Edit/Delete products and their details.
- Can View/Edit/Delete categories into the system.
- Admin can track sales activity.
- Admin can view transactions.
- Admin can View/Add/Remove stocks.
- Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel orders placed by the User.
- Can check payments done by User.
- Can change prices of products.
- Can manage users.
- Can change password.
- Can manage “My Profiles”.
User:
- Can log in/log out of the system.
- Can Manage “My profile”.
- Can search for products from a specific category.
- Users can Place/Cancel an order.
- Can make payments online.
- Can change password.
