Supermarket Billing System Project in Spring Boot, Hibernate, and MYSQL. It is designed for both third-year and final-year students for their college projects and is available with source code.
Supermarket Billing System Project Overview
It is developed for a single user i.e. Admin. Admin will manage the overall application. This web application is developed to manage the activity of supermarkets.
In this application, we have only admin roles that will manage the overall application. Admin can enter product details and generate bills for customers. Admin can download bills and invoices for customers.
The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the front end, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.
Supermarket Billing System Project Abstract
The redundant manual billing systems which lacked efficacy in generating and managing bills can easily get replaced by an online billing system for supermarkets. Having a supermarket billing system helps store owners to manage their supermarket activity. There can be a requirement where the owner wants to keep track of all the products, to have a system that will take care of bills, product detail, and so on.
So, we on Codebun have developed Supermarket Billing System Project in spring boot & hibernate to have all these above functionalities in a single application. Here, the admin i.e. the store owner should be able to add/remove products, billing details, etc.
Admin can update prices of the products, maintain products databases, manage payments, and so on. Admin can keep the records of the payments, purchases & billing history. Admin can enter product details like name, quantity, price, etc, and generate bills for customers. Admin can download bills and invoices for customers.
The following are the major objective of this application:
- To provide a bug-free application to the admin.
- The main objective is to build a secured, robust Supermarket Billing System Project where the information on supermarket products is managed properly.
- It maintains the record of the product, and the customer’s detail efficiently so that it would be easy to access at any time 24*7.
Modules of Supermarket Billing System
Admin Module: This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can Add/Remove/Update products, can manage users’ details, payments, etc.
Billing Module: Admin can generate bills for customers with the help of this module. Admin can generate, and download bills and invoices for customers of the supermarket.
Payment Module: All the operations related to payments can be managed in this module.
Details of Customers: Details of a User like a Name, Contact Number, and Purchase history can be managed with this module.
Sales Module: This module will allow the admin to keep records of the number of items that have been sold and track all the sales activities.

Admin is the main and sole user in this application. Let us see its functionality:

- Can Log in/Log out of the system.
- Admin can View/Edit/Delete products and their details.
- Admin can track sales activity.
- Admin can generate bills for customers.
- Can download bills and invoices.
- Can check payments.
- Can change prices of products.
- Can change password.
- Can manage “My Profiles”.
