The Bike Rental System project in Spring boot and Hibernate is configured to computerize the management process of the bike renting store. It will allow users to rent a bike or two-wheelers. This project is available with source code for 2nd/3rd/final year IT students for their college projects.
BRS is built to support all the functionality related to the process of renting, tracking, booking, payment, and charges. We will discuss each aspect of this project in detail for enhanced understanding.
Bike Rental System Overview
It is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and User, where Admin will have the main control over the system.
Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on the availability of Bikes, updating any details related to the Store, managing payments, etc. On the other hand, Users can register themselves and can log in to the system, rent a bike, and make payments online.
The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the frontend, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.
Bike Rental System Abstract
Renting a bike is the most convenient option for many people who don’t own a bike. This project will reduce the time and effort that the customer requires to rent a bike. The bike rental system consists of several components like Admin, Customers, New Registrations, Payments, and a lot more. The main aim of this project is to digitalize the whole process of renting bikes.
Codebun has designed this Bike Rental System Project in spring boot and hibernate to allow users to rent bikes using an online system. Here, there are two main roles in this application. Admin is the main user who will add, delete, and update bikes info, user can view the available bikes and can rent them. Admin can allot users a time slot/period and charge for the same.
Also, users can check the availability of bikes directly with a simple login to the page. Users can then pick up the bike from the stop and start the ride by entering the location points on the portal.
The following are the major objective of this application:
1. To provide a bug-free application.
2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust Bike Rental System.
3. It maintains the record of bikes, bookings, rents, users, and so on.
Modules of Bike Rental System
Admin: Admin will have the access to the overall System where he can add, update, view, and delete everything related to Products, Employees, and customers.
User: This module will allow users to first register into the system using their names, contact numbers, Mail IDs, and set passwords. Then a user can log in to the system using the registered name and password. Also, Users can log out of the system.
Category: In this module, Bikes can be categorized by Admin according to their brand’s names, charges per hour, models, colors, etc.
Bike: This module will manage all the Bikes related information like adding a new Bike to the system or viewing the old bikes and updating their information or deleting the ones not available for rent. This module consists of all the info regarding color, weight, company, charges per hour, height, etc. related to the bike.
Availability: In this module, Admin can check whether the particular bike from a specific category is available for rent.
Rent: All operations related to renting a bike can be managed in this module. Users can rent a bike of their choice. Users can do the advance booking for renting a bike.
Payment: All operations related to payments done by users can be managed in this module.
Users Roles
Two users can interact with this application 1) Admin 2) User
Admin:
- Can log in/log out of the system.
- Admin can view/edit/delete Bikes into the system.
- Can view/edit/delete Bike-Category into the system.
- Admin can view/confirm/cancel the booking of bikes rented by the User.
- Can check payments done by User.
- Can change charges per hour of bikes.
- Can change password.
- Can manage “My profiles”.
User:
- Can log in/log out of the system.
- Can Manage “My profile”.
- Can search for bikes & two-wheelers.
- Users can rent bikes.
- Can make payments online.
- Can change password.
