It is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin, and User, where Admin will have the main control over the system.

Admin will be responsible for keeping a check on the booking of cars, managing cars, drivers, payments, etc. On the other hand, Users can register themselves, log in using the login credentials, view and book the car, view charges, etc.

The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the front end, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.

Car Pooling System Project Abstract

So we on Codebun have developed Car Pooling System Project in spring boot & hibernate to allow users to search the car and book it. Admin is the primary user and can add/remove/update any details related to the system. Admin can manage registered users and drivers. Admin can Add/Remove/Update cars and their details from the system. Admin can also categorize cars accordingly. Admin will be responsible for keeping a check on all the bookings done by users. Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel bookings done by users. Admin can check and manage the availability of cars and also, keep a track of the status of all the cars that are engaged.

On the other hand, users can register. Users can search and view the cars available. Users can search cars by entering the pick-up and drop locations.

The following are the major objective of this application:

  1. To provide a bug-free application to the admin and users.
  2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust Car Pooling System Project where the information about cars is managed properly.
  3. It maintains the record of cars, and the user booking detail efficiently so that it would be easy to access at any time 24*7.

Modules in Car Pooling System Project

Admin Module: This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can View/Confirm/Cancel booking, can check payments, check the status of the trip, etc. Admin can set/update prices and charges of the car rides. Admin can manage the drivers and their details.

User Module: In this module, a user can register first using their name, contact number, consumer id, and address and also, can manage their profile. The user module will allow users to log in to the system using their names & contact number.

Booking Module: In this module, users can book a ride.

Availability: In this module, Admin can check whether the car is available.

Details of User: Details of a User like a Name, Contact Number, Address, Booking history, etc can be managed by Admin in this module.

Payment Module: All the operations related to payments can be managed in this module.

User Roles 

1) Admin

  • Admin can Log in/Log out of the system.
  • Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE Car categories.
  • Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE Car detail under the brand.
  • Can VIEW the details of the booking of cars.
  • Admin can VIEW details of Users sharing a car/ride.
  • Can manage payments.
  • Can manage “My Profile”.
  • Can change password.

2) Users

  • Users can Log in/Log out of the system.
  • Users can VIEW/Search cars.
  • Users can book cars/rides with pick/drop details.
  • Can VIEW booking details.
  • Can make payments.
  • Can manage “My Profile”.
  • Can change password.
