Consignment Tracking System is a web-based project that is developed in Java using JSP and Servlet. It is designed to manage Ship, Delivery, Tracking, Payment, Consignment, and Consignor from this project. This project is available for the final year IT students along with the source code.
Consignment Tracking System Overview
In this application, there are multiple modules such as Admin, User, Consignment, Tracking, Delivery Module, etc. Each module will be discussed later on in detail.
This is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin & User, where Admin will have the main control over the system.
Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on consignments, tracking consignments, payments, etc. On the other hand, Users can register themselves, log in using the login credentials, Track the consignment, view delivery status, make payments, etc.
The whole project is developed using Servlet and JSP. At the front end, we have used HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. At the data access layer, we have used JDBC API. The Database used here is MYSQL. The whole project is following the MVC (Model View & Controller) design pattern.
Consignment Tracking System Abstract
Consignment in which goods are left with a third party to sell, allows the third party reseller to pay the consignor after the goods are sold and keep the portion of the sale as a fee or commission.
Managing consignments shipping and tracking manually have become redundant due to the exponential growth in the business.
To make the consignment tracking process hassle-free, Codebun has designed a Consignment Tracking System in java, which has two-main roles i.e Admin & User. Admin being the primary user. Admin can Add/Remove/Update any details related to the system, manage consignments and tracking, manage payments, shipping, delivery, generate delivery reports, etc.
Users can register themselves, track consignments, check delivery status & details, make payments, etc. Users can find detailed information about the consignment & its whereabouts on the system after tracking.
The following are the major objective of this application:
- To provide a bug-free application.
- The main objective is to build a secured, computerized & robust Consignment Tracking System.
- It maintains the record of consignments & tracking, users, payments, history, reports, etc.
Modules in Consignment Tracking System
Admin Module- This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can manage & track consignments, manage users, manage payments, etc. Admin can generate reports of consignment-related operations and maintain records of consignment.
User Module– In this module, a user can register themselves first using their name, contact number, and address and also, can manage their profile. The user module will allow users to log in to the system using their names & contact numbers. Users can view their consignment details, the Delivery status of the consignment, payment status, history, etc.
Delivery Module– In this module, all the operations related to the delivery of consignments can be managed by the Admin.
Tracking Module– This module will help Admin to manage the tracking of consignments. Users can track consignments in this module.
Ship Module– In this module, Ship related operations can be managed by Admin.
Payment Module– This module is developed to manage payments operations.
Consignment Module– This module will help to manage all the consignments.
Consignor Module– Consignor-related operations can be managed by Admin in this module.
