Online Electricity Billing System Project in Spring Boot and Hibernate. Electricity Billing System is a web application developed for final year IT students and is available with the source code.

Online Electricity Billing System Overview

This is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and User, where Admin will have the main control over the system.

Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on users, billings, payments, generating invoices for users, etc. On the other hand, Users can register themselves, log in using the login credentials, and pay their monthly electricity bills online.

The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the front end, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.

Online Electricity Billing System Abstract

The online billing system is a better replacement for the redundant manual billing systems which lacked efficacy in generating and managing Electricity bills. The Electricity Billing System will assist in managing the operations related to billings with more accuracy and efficiency.

For this, Codebun has designed an online electricity billing system project in spring boot and hibernate, which has two main roles i.e. Admin and User. Admin is the primary user. Admin can Add/Remove/Update any details related to the system, maintain electricity usage database, generate bills & invoices for the users, and View/Confirm/Cancel registration requests by Users, connections, and so on. Admin can keep the records of the users and their details.

Users can register on the portal using their name, address, and other valid details and documents, pay online, download bills & invoices, and Request/Cancel registration. After logging in, users can find detailed information about the calculated charges & taxes included in the bills, data consumption, pending bills, etc on the system after logging in.

The following are the major objective of this application:

  1. To provide a bug-free application.
  2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust Online Electricity Billing System.
  3. It maintains the record of Users, Payments, & history, etc.

Modules in Online Electricity Billing System 

Admin Module- This module will allow Admin to log in and manage the system and its functions. Admin can collect call data usage by users for billings, compile & maintain call database, generate bills & invoices for the user, manage Existing Users, View/Confirm/Cancel registration requests, manage bills & payments, etc.

Admin can send billing & payment reminder emails to registered users in case any user has failed to pay their electricity bills on time.

Registration Module- In this module, a user can register first using their name, contact number, address, etc.

User Module– The user module will allow users to log in to the system using their names & password. Users can view their electricity bills, data usage, payment status, history, etc.

Billing Module- In this module, operations related to Electricity bills can be managed.

Payment Module- In this module, Users can pay for Electricity bills and services provided using e-payment methods.

Download Module- Users will be able to download Electricity bills & invoices in this module.

Details of User- Details of a User like a Name, Contact Number, Address, meter number, bills, and payment history can be managed by Admin with this module.
