This application is developed to manage the inventory and supply chain of the organization. Admin is the main user of this application who will add products, add suppliers, add sales managers, etc. Another user is the manager role who will view the transaction list, view suppliers, monthly reports, etc. Now the last role is warehouse sales manager user who will view all stocks available.

The overall project is designed using the MVC pattern (MVC i.e. Model, View, and Controller). In the Backend, it is using Spring Boot, at the data access layer the project is using Hibernate Framework, and at the front end, we are using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. The Database used here is MYSQL.

Warehouse Management System Abstract

Warehouse Management System is an application developed to support the functionality of an inventory system. It ensures that products move through the warehouse in the most effective way.

Codebun has designed a Warehouse Management project in spring boot & hibernate, which has multiple roles i.e. Admin, Warehouse manager, and sales manager. Admin is the primary user. Admin can Add/Remove/Update any details related to the products like product stocks, category, and type of products, descriptions, expiry dates if any, update prices of the products, can categorize, and maintain products databases.

Another role is that of warehouse manager who will view all transactions, and stocks added. Whereas the sales manager will add transactions and view stocks.

Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on the products and management of the system, can add/remove/update products from lists, categorize products, check availability of products, etc.

The following are the major objective of this application:

  1. To provide a bug-free application to the admin, warehouse manager, and sales manager.
  2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust Warehouse Management system where all products detail are managed properly.
  3. It maintains the record of products, transaction detail, stocks detail efficiently so that it would be easy to access at any time 24*7.

Modules of Warehouse Management System

Admin Module- This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions. Admin can Add/Remove/Update products, View/Confirm/Cancel orders, manage products/product categories, details, and availability, can manage users, payments, etc.

Warehouse Manager Module- In this module, the warehouse manager can register on the portal. Once registered, the user can log in/log out of the system. Users can manage their account & profile details.

Sales Manager Module- In this module, the sales manager can register on the portal. Once registered, the user can log in/log out of the system and can manage their account & profile details.

Sales Module: This module will allow the admin to keep records of the sales. Admin can View/Generate/Track sales reports with the help of this module. Admin can track the sales activity and also, the growth of the business.

Inventory Module: In this module, Admin can check product availability. Admin can Add/Remove/Update stocks with the help of this module.

Payment Module: All the payment-related operations can be managed in this module.

Category: In this module, products can be categorized accordingly.

User Roles of Warehouse Management System

There are three main roles in this application. Let us see the functionality of each.

1) Admin

  • Can Log in/Log out of the system.
  • Can manage “My Profile”.
  • Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE Products.
  • Admin can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE Supplier details.
  • Can ADD/VIEW/DELETE/UPDATE customer details.
  • Admin can ADD supplier detail from where they purchase products.
  • Admin can ADD transaction detail of the customer.
  • Can ADD/VIEW/DELETE/UPDATE the sales manager and warehouse manager.
  • Can change password.

2) Warehouse Manager

  • Can Log in/Log out of the system.
  • Can manage “My Profile”.
  • The warehouse Manager can ADD/VIEW/UPDATE/DELETE transaction detail for a customer.
  • The warehouse Manager can VIEW the list of suppliers.
  • The warehouse Manager can VIEW all the customers.
  • Can VIEW all the stocks available.
  • Can change password.

3) Sales Manager

  • Can Log in/Log out of the system.
  • Can manage “My Profile”.
  • The sales Manager can VIEW all the stocks available.
  • The sales Manager can ADD the transaction detail of the purchased product and sell it.
  • Can change password.
