University Management System in Java using JSP and Servlet with Source Code. This project is configured to computerize the management process of a University. Managing a University is a complex process as there are hundreds and thousands of students and faculty members in a university, which involves a lot of information that needs to be handled.

This project is designed and available with source code for 2^nd/3^rd/final year IT students for their college projects.

University Management System in Java

It is a multi-role application project like Admin, Students, and Faculty where Admin has the main control over the system. He will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on faculties and students section whereas, students and faculty members can register themselves and can interact with each other as and when needed.

The whole project is developed using  Servlet and JSP. At the front end, we have used HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. At the data access layer, we have used JDBC API. The Database used here is MYSQL. The whole project is following the MVC(Model View & Controller) design pattern.

University Management System Abstract

Managing a University is a hectic process. This project will serve its purpose of reducing the time and effort that an ordinary management system consumes. A University comprises many components like Faculties, Students, Enrolment of new candidates, Attendance, Results & Marking system, Payments, etc. The main objective of this project is to computerize the whole process of management.

To get any update or news related to your university one would not have to visit a university. Every single detail related to class, subject, or attendance can be maintained on the University website. Students can directly interact with their respective department faculty members and vice versa.

Codebun has designed this project in java to help manage a university from a single place. Where Admin has control over the overall system. A student has to register themselves on the portal with their name or id proofs received from the university where they can have access to their attendance, results, marks with respect to each subject, etc. Also, where they can directly be notified of updates available for scholarships, payments, and fees due. On the other hand, a faculty member can mark the attendance of students directly, update the results and marks of each and every student.

The following are the major objective of this application:

1. To provide a bug-free application.
2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust University Management System.
3. It maintains the record of attendance, results, subjects, so on.

Modules of University Management System

• Admin: In this module, the admin can have access to the overall system of a university i.e. admin will be able to update any information related to students, faculty, subjects, courses, payments, etc.
• Subjects and Courses: This module will manage all the courses and subjects that a university has to offer to students.
• Faculty Section: This module will specifically manage all the faculties of the university. In this module, faculty members can register themselves and also, mark their own and their student’s attendance. Also, they can set each and every student’s marks and result based on their performances in exams.
• Students Section: In this module, student users can register themselves with their university id or name. They can see their attendance, results, and exam scores in this module.
• Payments and Fees Section: In this module, admission, exam and course-related fees can be maintained.

User role University Management

There are two types of users that directly interact with application 1) Faculty 2) Students

Faculties:

• Can log in to the application.
• Can View and add/EDIT/Delete new faculty into the system.
• Can View and add/EDIT/Delete new Students into the system.
• Can View and add/EDIT/Delete new complaints about other faculties and students into the system.
• Can View and add/EDIT/Delete assignments and Subject Notes.
• Can manage the “MY Profile”.
• Can change password.

Students:

• Can log in to the application.
• Can View faculty into the system.
• Can View Students into the system.
• Can View and Add complaints about other faculties and students into the system.
• Can View assignments and Subject Notes.
• Can manage the “MY Profile”.
• Can change password.
