The Alumni Information System project is designed in Java for the students who are pursuing their degree in the IT field. This project helps in filling the communication gap between old students and their colleges and universities.
It will simply enable contact between the Universities and the pass-out students from their Universities.
Alumni Information System in Java
It is a multiple-role application project i.e. Admin, Alumni, and Faculty Members where Admin will have the main control over the system.
Users will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on the Alumni and Faculty section, an Alumni and Faculty members can register themselves and can interact with other Alumni and their faculty members. Here Admin also can interact with Alumni on behalf of the University/Institution.
The whole project is developed using Servlet and JSP. At the front end, we have used HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. At the data access layer, we have used JDBC API. The Database used here is MYSQL. The whole project is following the MVC (Model View & Controller) design pattern.
Alumni Information System Abstract
Usually, after passing out from colleges and universities we tend to lose touch with our batch mates and end up living in a whole new world with new friends and colleagues. To re-establish that lost connection, Alumni Information System is designed.
The main goal of this project is to bridge the gap between students with their batch mates and universities and college members and staff. To see what your batch mates are up to in their life and career, this will be the best way to find that out from a single place. One would have to simply register themselves and start interacting with friends and members.
Codebun has designed Alumni Information System in Java to allow alumni’s communicate with other alumni and their respective faculty members. There are three main roles in this application. Admin is the primary user who will handle the system and update information related to the universities like an event or get-together program for the Alumni.
Admin will keep the record of all the details of the registered Alumni and Faculty Members. Faculty members can log in to the system and get in touch with students. Similarly, Alumni also have to log in to the system to be able to interact with their batch mates and other members.
The following are the major objective of this application:
1. To provide a bug-free application.
2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust Alumni Information System.
3. It maintains the record of Alumni, College/University Events, Faculty Members, etc.
Modules in Alumni Information System
Admin Login– This module will allow Admin to log in to the system and manage the system and its functions.
Alumni Login– Alumni module will allow students to log in to the system using their names and university ids and start interacting with their batch mates and other members.
Faculty Login– In this module, faculty members can log in to the system.
Event module– In this module, all the university/college events can be managed.
Gallery– In this module, Alumni can share/upload any images or videos to the system.
Explore– In this module, you can search for your old friends and batchmates and see their profiles.
Contact– In this module, you can start a conversation with your friends.
Users Roles
Three users can interact with this application 1) Admin 2) Alumni 3) Faculty members.
Admin:
- Can log in/log out of the system.
- Can view/edit/delete faculty into the system.
- Can view/edit/delete Alumni into the system
- Can view/edit/delete events and functions of college/universities.
- Can change password.
- Can manage “My profiles”.
Alumni:
- Can log in/log out of the system.
- Can Manage “My profile”.
- Can search for other Alumni using their names.
- Can search for Faculty.
- Can View events.
- Can communicate with other Alumni.
- Can share images/videos on the system.
- Can change password.
Faculty:
- Can log in/log out of the system.
- Can Manage “My profile”.
- Can search for other faculty members and Alumni using their names.
- Can View events.
- Can communicate with other Faculty members and Alumni.
- Can share images/videos on the system.
- Can change password.
