Car Rental System In Java Using JSP And Servlet With Source Code

The Car Rental System project in java is configured to computerize the management process of the Car renting store. This project is available with source code for 2nd/3rd/final year IT students for their college projects.

Car Rental System is built to support all the functionality related to the process of renting, tracking, booking, payment, and charges. We will discuss each aspect of this project in detail for enhanced understanding.

Car Rental System Overview

It is a multi-role application project i.e. Admin and User, where Admin will have the main control over the system.

Admin will be responsible for maintaining the system and also, keeping a check on the availability of Cars, updating any details related to the Store, managing payments, etc. On the other hand, Users can register themselves and can log in to the system, rent a car, and make payments online.

The whole project is developed using Servlet and JSP. At the front end, we have used HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. At the data access layer, we have used JDBC API. The Database used here is MYSQL. The whole project is following the MVC (Model View & Controller) design pattern.

Car Rental System Abstract

A car rental system will alleviate the process of renting a car. It will allow the business owner to easily manage the renting and tracking of the vehicles online. This project will also reduce the time and effort that the users require to rent a Car.

The Car rental system consists of several components like Admin, Users, Registrations, Payments, etc. The main aim of this project is to digitalize the whole process of renting Cars.

Codebun has designed this Car Rental System Project in java to allow users to rent Cars using an online system. Here, there are two main roles in this application. Admin is the main user who will add/delete/update Cars information. Admin can allot users a time slot/period and charge for the same. Admin can manage all the rentals and payments for the same. Admin can track all the cars.

Users can view the available Cars and can rent them. Also, users can check the availability of Cars directly with a simple login to the page. Users can then pick up the Car from the stop and start the ride by entering the location points on the portal.

The following are the major objective of this application:
1. To provide a bug-free application.
2. The main objective is to build a secured, robust Car Rental System.
3. It maintains the record of Cars, bookings, rents, users, and so on.

Modules of Car Rental System

Admin: Admin will have the access to the overall System where he can add, update, view, and delete every information related to cars, rents, and users.

Registration: This module will allow users to first register into the system using their names, contact numbers, and Mail IDs, and set passwords.

User: Then a user can log in to the system using the registered name and password. Also, Users can log out of the system.

Category: In this module, Cars can be categorized by Admin according to their brand’s names, charges per hour, models, etc. Also, Car-related information like adding/deleting a new car to the system and updating their information or deleting the ones not available for rent can be managed by the Admin.

Availability: In this module, Admin can check whether the particular Car from a specific category is available for rent.

Rental: All operations related to renting a car can be managed in this module. Users can rent a Car of their choice. Users can do an advance booking.

Payment: All operations related to payments done by users can be managed in this module.

User Roles of Car Rental System

Two users can interact with this application 1) Admin 2) User

Admin:

  • Can log in/log out of the system.
  • Admin can view/edit/delete Cars into the system.
  • Can view/edit/delete Car-Category into the system.
  • Admin can view/confirm/cancel the booking by the User.
  • Can check payments done by User.
  • Can change charges per hour of Cars.
  • Can change password.
  • Can manage “My profiles”.

User:

  • Can log in/log out of the system.
  • Can Manage “My profile”.
  • Can search for Cars.
  • Users can rent Cars.
  • Can make payments online.
  • Can change password.
